Lines @ Foundation B.A.D.
Lines in the South
After a very cold morning expedition to the harsh and scary depths of Rotterdam South we arrived at Foundation B.a.d.

B.a.d.'s history and aims were explained, a place for artists to live and work and have studio space at. I really liked the idea that artists were allowed to live there if they worked at/with b.a.d. only or the other way around. I think that's a great idea to keep a big studio space interesting with people walking in and out over a lifetime. Most work that was shown has already left my memory and I mostly remember being distracted by the huskie walking around the place.

After the introduction we were sent out into the great wilds of Rotterdam South to find lines around us. While out there I tried to look for lines that were not related to traffic but found it very hard. I think they are definitely out there, so I am still frustrated that I can't really prove my point about them. I think it's because some of these lines/rules are so normal to us we don't even think about them.
The curb being heightened and having a different color tell you that from there on a new sort of road start with different rules and uses. I find these very interesting because we are never really told about them, it's just accepted and there's no signs ever telling you it's a different path.
The mailbox is a way of telling where to leave the mail.
Reflective lines on an orange background indicate instruction work is being done.
The rising square lines tell you that there's stairs. This works in a 2D-cartoon way and 3D as well.

The bench consists of 2 very simple lines, one 90 degrees and the other flat. It's simple but works.
